This is the epic place we've all heard/read about. It's small, divey, and dark and exactly what you'd want in a live music venue. The walls and fixtures ooze history, and you can only imagine the epic shows that were held here.
Sound is great, staff super cool, and prices are resonable (for LA). If you want to relive the past or rock in the present, the Whiskey is a must.
Saw "Plush" here in late August of 2024 and was impressed with this iconic and historic venue. It's small, crowded, and understandably a bit worn down looking, but the sound system rocked, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the security seemed on top of any potential issues. Valet parking behind the building is pricey at $25, but it's better (and safer) than trying to find a spot on Sunset Blvd. Almost got a contact high from some of the patrons in there, but I guess they allow (or just put up with) a little weed usage. Fun place with a heck of a lot of music history.
Haven't been to the whiskey in 15 -20 years until the other night to see some friends play.. the wait was kinda long but the show and the booth were worth it . Good non alcoholic beverages for those of us who don't drink and great food. . I lookforward to returning again for another show ...sooner then befor lol
